Since 1983, Mountain Stage has been welcoming world-class performers to showcase their talents in the exciting format of live performance radio. As we continue our 39th season in 2022, we are actively working to preserve our rich history. We’ve completed over 950 episodes, totaling over 2,000 hours of performances, stored across five different formats: Reel to Reel, DAT tape, Mini Disc, CD and hard drive.
We are working to provide you, the listener access to a web based portal that will allow you to hear every Mountain Stage performance simply by clicking a button.
By supporting this project you will be helping to give the entire world an ALL ACCESS pass to this long-standing tradition. If you are moved to do so, feel free to donate to the Digital Archive Project by clicking on the pink donate button at the top of this page. Be sure to let us know your favorite episode or artist on Mountain Stage. If the demands for certain sets are high, we will attempt to bump it up in the queue.
In May 2014, Mountain Stage hosted ALL ACCESS, a benefit for the Mountain Stage Digital Archive Project. Thanks to the generous support we received from the Friends of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, Farmer, Cline & Campbell, PLLC, and The West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts, we were able to raise over $17,000.00 for the Digital Archive Project. If you would like to know more about ALL ACCESS events and the progress of the Digital Archive Project, sign up for our newsletter.
